How to Use F2F Translator

1. Choose Partner's & Your Language: Select your partner's language from the top dropdown (above the 180° pane) and your language from the bottom dropdown (below your pane) — supporting 60 global & regional languages (all unlocked without login).
2. Tap Your Speak Button: Tap "🎤 My Speak" on the bottom half of the screen when you speak, or let your partner tap "👂 Speak" on their 180° inverted top half.
3. Watch Live Word Chips & Auto-Translate (3s): As you speak, your words appear live as chips on screen. Tap any misheard word chip (✕) to delete it or drag chips to reorder. Translation starts automatically 3 seconds after your last word (resetting on new/deleted words and pausing while dragging), or tap "✅ Done • Translate ➔" / "✨ Translate ➔" immediately.
4. Instant Translation, 🔄 Retranslate & ⬇️ Audio Download: The app translates in under 1 second, displays it upright (180°) for your partner across the table, and speaks it aloud (🔊). Want to translate the same spoken sentence into another language without speaking again? Switch the other speaker's language and tap 🔄 (left of ⬇️). Tap ⬇️ anytime to download the voice audio (.mp3 / .wav).
5. Customize Interface & Mic Sensitivity: Open Settings (⚙️) to change the app's interface language, toggle Auto-Play translation voice, or adjust Microphone Sensitivity (High for soft voices, Low for noisy places).

Tips for Best Results

• Once word chips appear, pause for 3 seconds to auto-translate, or tap "✅ Done • Translate ➔" / "✨ Translate ➔" right away
• Switch the other speaker's language and tap 🔄 to retranslate your last spoken words without speaking again (switching back to a language already translated in the same session uses 0 AI credits!)
• Use Chrome (Android/Desktop) or Safari (iOS/macOS) and grant microphone permission
• Sign in via WhatsApp or Google for 30 free Starter AI credits, or top up with non-expiring AI Cloud Packs (500 / 2,000 / 5,000)

👥 Dual Action Conversation Buttons (60+ Languages)

Each side of the screen has its own language dropdown (60 global & regional languages, all unlocked without login) and dedicated speak button, with automatic spoken-language detection so you never need to swap languages manually.

How it works: Tap "🎤 My Speak" on your side when you speak, and "👂 Speak" on the opposite side when your partner speaks.

🔄 Inverted Face-to-Face 180° Split Screen

The default split-screen layout rotates the top half 180 degrees so the person sitting across the table can read translations upright from their side. You can switch between Split Screen and Chat History anytime via the bottom bar.

🎙️ Live Word Chips & 3-Second Auto-Translate

While speaking, your recognized words appear as interactive chips and the main button turns green ("✅ Done • Translate ➔"). Pause speaking for 3 seconds after your last word to translate automatically, or tap "✅ Done • Translate ➔" / "✨ Translate ➔" immediately. Deleting a word resets the 3-second timer; dragging a word pauses the timer and dropping it restarts the 3-second countdown.

🔊 Replay Voice, 🔄 Retranslate & ⬇️ Download Audio

When Auto-Play is enabled, the app automatically speaks the translation out loud (🔊) and activates the other person's microphone. Want to translate your already-spoken words into a different language without speaking again? Switch the other speaker's language dropdown and tap 🔄 (to the left of ⬇️). Switching back to a language already translated in the same session uses 0 AI credits! Tap ⬇️ anytime to save the spoken audio (.mp3 / .wav).

Use case: Speak once, then switch languages and tap 🔄 to hear and download (⬇️) the translation in multiple languages without repeating yourself.

🔤 Phonetic Romanization & PDF/TXT Export

Automatically displays phonetic reading aids (Pinyin for Chinese, Romaji for Japanese, Romanization for Korean, Arabic, Greek, Russian, Thai, and Indic scripts) below non-Latin text. In the History (📜) tab, export your bilingual transcript as PDF or TXT, or tap "📋 Share".

🎤 Microphone Not Working

Solution:

• Check if your browser has microphone permission granted
• Chrome: Click the 🔒 icon in the address bar → Site settings → Microphone → Allow
• Safari: Safari menu → Settings for This Website → Microphone → Allow
• Try refreshing the page after granting permission

🌐 Translation Not Working

Solution:

• Check your internet connection
• Make sure your spoken words appear as chips on screen — once chips appear, wait 3 seconds or tap "✅ Done • Translate ➔"
• Adjust Microphone Sensitivity in Settings (⚙️) if your voice is soft or the room is noisy
• Check your remaining AI quota badge at the top of the screen

📱 App Won't Install

Solution:

• Chrome/Edge: Look for the install icon in the address bar
• Safari (iOS): Tap Share → Add to Home Screen
• Safari (macOS): File → Add to Dock
• Make sure you're using HTTPS (not HTTP)

🔇 No Voice Output

Solution:

• Check your device volume is not muted
• Try clicking the 🔊 button manually on a translation
• Some browsers may require user interaction before playing audio
• Try reloading the page

🔄 Getting App Updates on Mobile

Solution:

• Close the app completely (swipe it away from your phone's recent apps screen) and reopen it.
• The app checks for updates automatically every time you launch it or return to it.
• Alternatively, open your browser (Chrome or Safari), visit https://www.f2f-translator.com, and pull down to refresh.
• On Android: You can also go to phone Settings → Apps → F2F Translator → Storage → Clear Cache.

• Clear your browser cache and cookies
• Check the browser console for error messages (F12 → Console tab)
